S.O.A.R. (Sound of Abundant Rain)

is a ministry licensing board founded by Pastor Richard Ogles in 2010.

S.O.A.R. is based in Waco, Tx, but we accept applications from all over the country.

What is the process to obtain a license?

• Pray and ask the Lord is S.O.A.R. is right for you.

• If yes, fill out an Application, including Personal References and a non-refundable $10 fee.

• The licensing board meets a few times a year to consider the pending applications.

• The board will send out packets for your Personal References to complete and return.

• After Reference packets are received, we will do a background check.

• An Interview will be scheduled with the licensing board.

• After review, we will let you know if you are approved to be licensed or ordained.

• If yes, your yearly fee will be due at that time.

• We schedule a time to publicly license or ordain you. We encourage you to invite friends and family. We will officially commission you and present your ministry certificate and license card to you.

• Annual Dues for renewal of licensing are due January of each year.

What different types of Licenses does S.O.A.R. offer?

• ​Special Workers License

       Yearly Fee: $25.00

       Great for someone just starting out in ministry. Not able to officiate weddings.

• License

       Yearly Fee: $40.00

       Allows you to officiate weddings.

​

• Ordained

       Yearly Fee: $50.00

       Allows you to be a pastor and begin churches or other 501c3 ministries.

What if I have a criminal record?

The background check and personal reference packets are not meant to disqualify you, but rather to attest that you are truthful about your past; both the good and the bad. Your weaknesses, mistakes, or even a past incarceration will not necessarily disqualify you. Many times, the Lord delivers people out of the prison system to go back into the prisons to reach the lost.

These are some of the factors that will determine our decision:

• The severity of the offense.

• How long ago it was.

• Your current level of spiritual maturity.

• The type of license you are requesting.

• The type of ministry you plan to do.

This ministry is built upon RELATIONSHIPS.

We want to be there for you, help you reach your calling, and answer any questions you may have. We are always just one phone call (or email) away.  Most importantly we want to cover you in prayer and be available to pray with you. We understand that ministry can be hard sometimes. It can be very comforting just to know you are not in this alone. There are others out there going through the same struggles and obstacles. We would also love to be there to celebrate the victories and achievements. We pray you will prayerfully consider making S.O.A.R. your licensing board of choice.
